Twenty-one letters to a friend. Fourteen letters are from Ambergate, St. Andrew, Jamaica (in Kingston); five are from New York City; and two are from England. Smith describes her work, including ideas about plays, drawings, and stage designs; she also gives details about her daily life. Many letters include poems and ink and pencil drawings, some hand colored. Also included are two loose drawings, two clippings, and a printed set of playing cards designed by Smith.
